CURRICULUM

Mathematics

At Cleves we aim to produce ‘Inspired and Confident Young Mathematicians’.
We provide an exciting and enabling Mathematics curriculum that ensures that the objectives of the new National Curriculum are met across the whole school. We provide a range of experiences including speaking and listening activities, games, exercises, investigations and problem solving.

Additionally we make sure that children have opportunities to apply their maths knowledge and skills to other areas of the curriculum, for example science, physical education and geography. We try to give real life contexts to activities so that children see maths as a life skill.
At Cleves we promote the use of concrete resources across the whole school in order to embed and enhance a true understanding of mathematical concepts and knowledge.
